This is where I try to keep up to date.  : ), and also where you can see what I've been up to.

August 2012 - Felted vessels created by my students at Alston Hall.

August 2012 - applique of Halifax Piece Hall and market, with the Pennine hills in the background. Created by a key stage 2 pupil from a series of workshops I delivered earlier this year.  Inspired by  our community and in the style of J.S.Lowry.  Pupils were encouraged to research Lowry and then sketch their ideas in relation to their own town.  The sketches were then worked by cutting fabrics and building them up to create a finished design.

Cosy and warm.. Felted slippers created at one of my 3D Felt Workshops by one of my students.

School Project - hand rolled felt project with Key Stage Two pupils.  The theme was Myths and Legends. We had lots of dragons, shields and flags.  Above is a  Prince and two Princesses.  I encouraged the children to create their design using pre-felts which they cut from hand rolled felt we had made in a previous lesson..  We embellished further with hand embroidery.

Water, Snow and Ice

Saturday 12th October, 2013

I love visiting Northumberland.  I have to say, it is one of my favourite places. I always feel so much at home there and I am always made to feel really welcome!  Maybe, its because my family roots are from that area, or maybe it could just be the fantastic hospitality of Gill and Walter Curry at Fenham Farm near Beale.  I feel I am among friends when I am there and I always go away with a warm feeling in my heart! Hopefully I will be in the area again, staying with Gill and Walter in May or June 2014.  My recent return to photography which I studied years ago as part of of my Foundation studies and Degree has stimulated my imagination and desire to pursue it further.  A trip to the Farne Islands would not go a miss!
