Valerie Hughes (she/her) writes fiction and the occasional poem. Her work has been published in over a dozen literary magazines. She is a prose Submissions Reader for Twin Bird Review and The Masters Review. She was a member of PocketMFA’s Spring 2024 Fiction Cohort and a student of One Story’s 2025 Advanced Fiction Workshop with Fatima Kola. She is currently working on a novel.
